On hearing of the case Hon’ able OHC ordered to the crime branch of Odisha Police to submit a status report on its investigation into the alleged negligence of some police officers and doctors in Pipili gang rape case. A bench of two judges consisting of Chief Justice V. Gopal Gowda and Justice Biswanath Mohapatra give the direction after the crime branch submits the status report on investigation of the case. As per report two charge sheets have been files against the assuced persons in the trial court. (Lower Court).

The crime branch also intimated to the Hon’ able Court that the investigation in the case is going on and they are in a process to examine the victim as soon as she becomes able to give her statements. Presently the victim is in coma stage and being treated in SCB medical College & Hospital, Cuttack.
